Noted singers Syed Abdul Hadi and Asif Akbar have celebrated the bond between a father and son in a duet song, which was released on June 20 marking Father's Day. 'Baba Chheler Taan' has been released on YouTube under the banner of Dhruba Music Station (DMS).

The song, titled 'Baba Chheler Taan', has been penned by Suhrid Sufian. It has been tuned by Kishore Das and jointly composed by Sumon Kalyan and Kishore Das.

Father's Day is a day dedicated to honouring fatherhood and paternal bonds. It has been celebrated on March 19 as Saint Joseph's Day since the Middle Ages in Catholic countries of Europe. In the USA, Father's Day was founded by Sonora Smart Dodd and celebrated on the third Sunday of June.

'Baba Chheler Taan' revolves around the relationship between a father and son where Hadi portrays the father and Asif depicts the son. This is the first time Hadi and Asif have sung together.

Syed Abdul Hadi, born at Comilla in Bangladesh in 1940 in a music loving family, is a Bangladeshi legend of Modern Songs. Hadi was initiated to music by prominent music trainer, Subal Das at a young age. Subsequently, he has trained under Ustad Quader Jameri and Mr. P.C. Gomez in Hindustani Classical Vocal Music and thereafter under Abdul Aahad in Rabindra Sangeet and Modern Songs.

In 1965, Hadi released his first album in Nazrul Geeti from HMV under distinguished music director, Kamal Dasgupta. In the same year, Hadi released his first album of Modern Songs under the music direction of Abdul Aahad and lyrics by Abu Hena Mustafa Kamal. Hadi commenced playback singing for films since 1960 and has been an enlisted artist of the Bangladesh Betar and Bangladesh Television since 1962 and 1964 respectively. Hadi has been the proud recipient of almost all top music awards of Bangladesh most notably the National Film Awards for Best Singer 5 times and the prestigious "Ekushey Padak" in the year 2000.

Hadi has extensively travelled abroad for performances. He visited Mumbai, Delhi, Jaipur, Benaras and Kolkata for performances on invitation of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR). He has also travelled to Pakistan (Lahore and Karachi), China, Japan, North Korea, South Korea, Thailand, Singapore, Australia (Melbourne and Sydney), USA (New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Dallas, Houston and Washington), Europe (UK, Wales, Sweden and Switzerland), Uzbekistan, Middle East (Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Qatar), Egypt (Cairo and Alexandria) etc for performances.

Asif Akbar releases solo, duet, and mixed albums and also songs for cinema. His latest album, Jaan Re, is available online after he released all of his songs in all methods to prevent piracy. He received the Meril Prothom Alo Award for Best Singer (Male) for five consecutive years and the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Male Playback Singer for his performance in the film Rani Kuthir Baki Itihash (2006).
