Noted Tagore artiste Rezwana Choudhury Bannya received the famed ICCR Alumni Award 2019 at a programme held on November 15 at the Main Auditorium of Bangladesh National Museum, Shahbagh in the city.
The award ceremony was organised by Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre, the cultural wing of the High Commission of India in Dhaka. Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Riva Ganguly Das handed over the award to Bannya.
A recipient of ICCR scholarship, Rezwana Choudhury Bannya has completed her bachelors and masters in Rabindra Sangeet from Visva Bharati University in Shantiniketan, India.
At the event, Rezwana Choudhury Bannya accompanied by her students from music school Shurer Dhara.
Rezwana Choudhury Bannya is an exponent of Rabindra Sangeet, the songs written and composed by Rabindranath Tagore. She has earned many prestigious awards, including the Independence Day Award (2016), Bangladesh's highest civilian honor.
