Bangladesh Udichi Shilpigoshti, a cultural organisation that works for building up a secular and peaceful society, celebrated its 51st founding anniversary by organising various programmes simultaneously across the country on October 29. A cultural programme, as part of the celebration, was held by the central committee of 'Bangladesh Udichi Shilpigoshti' at Swoparjita Swadhinata Chattar, University of Dhaka.

The event started through the rendering of national anthem and theme song of the organisation. Then a discussion was held where Jamshed Anowar Tapan, general secretary of Udichi central committee, delivered the welcome speech. Dr. Shafiuddin Ahmed, President of Udichi, presided over the discussion programme. Noted cultural activist and veteran journalist Kamal Lohani, former President of Udichi, Rezaul Karim Siddiqui Rana, former general secretary of Udichi and other were present on the occasion. Following the discussion part, a cultural programme featuring dance, poetry recitation and music rendition was presented before the audiences. A dance and music based drama titled 'Bhalobasha O Proshantir Prithibi' was also performed at the event.

Some of the notable dramas of Udichi are- 'Michhil', 'BibahaUtsab', 'Chile Kothar Shepai', 'Freedom of the City', 'Raja Raja Khela' , 'Din Bodoler Pala', 'Purnima' and more. 'Bangladesh Udichi Shilpigoshti' was awarded with Ekushey Padak in 2013.
