"Shomoyer Proyojone", the pivotal short story on Liberation War from the legendary writer Zahir Raihan has returned to stage. The 71st rendition of the drama was held on July 27. The drama by Theatre Art Unit has for long remained away from theatres. The comeback show was held at the Experimental Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.

The drama has been directed by Mohammad Bari. According to the story by Zahir Raihan the drama takes the reporter Zahir Raihan to a camp of Freedom Fighters. There he gets insights regarding the war from a diary of a Freedom Fighter named Mamun. But the drama goes beyond the storyline to include events like the murder of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, resurgence of the War Criminals and also activities of the reactionists. At the very beginning Tagore song "Banglar Mati, Banglar Jol" and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's March 7 speech have also been infused.

Mohammad Bari, Chandan Reza, Prashanta Halder, Selim Mahbub, Millat, Sathi Ranjan Dey, Saif Sumon, Ferdous Amin Biplab, Syed Alik, Kamal Raihan and more have acted in the drama. The drama was premiered in 2005 at the Jatiya Mahilla Samity, Bailey Road.
