On 10 May 2025, the Russian House in Dhaka commemorated the 80th anniversary of Victory Day with a vibrant cultural evening celebrating the richness of Russian traditional folk dance. The event featured a captivating performance by the acclaimed Folklore Ensemble "OBRAZ" from Russia, honouring the enduring legacy of courage, unity, and peace.

The celebration began with opening remarks from Mr. Pavel Dvoychenkov, Director of the Russian House in Dhaka, who reflected on the profound historical significance of Victory Day, observed annually on May 9 as a solemn tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of those who endured the Great Patriotic War. He also underscored the deepening cultural ties between Russia and Bangladesh, highlighting the vital role such events play in fostering mutual understanding, friendship, and cultural diplomacy.

The program was graced by the presence of His Excellency Alexander G. Khozin, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Bangladesh and Mr. Mia Sattar, President of Russian Friendship Society with Bangladesh. Also in attendance were diplomats, cultural figures, student and youth representatives and members of the Bangladeshi public-gathered in a shared spirit of appreciation for international cultural exchange.

The ensemble "OBRAZ" delivered a dynamic and emotionally resonant performance, presenting a diverse repertoire of traditional Russian folk dances. With vivid choreography, vibrant costumes and expressive storytelling, the troupe transported the audience into the heart of Russian cultural traditions. Each performance met with warm and enthusiastic applause, as the audience remained deeply engaged and mesmerized throughout the evening.
