Talented artist Azmeer Hossain is displaying 50 artworks at an ongoing solo exhibition in Shilpangan Art Gallery in Dhanmondi.
The fifteen-day show titled 'From the Pages of Memory' is the fourth solo exhibition of the artist, who has displayed watercolour and mixed media artworks depicting Dhaka city and the cities he has visited at the show.
A watercolour artwork by Azmeer titled 'Beauty of old Dhaka' shows the dilapidated buildings of old Dhaka city in a beautiful evening. The artwork takes viewers down memory lane.
Though Azmeer Hossain was born in Dhaka, Bangladesh, he spent many years in New York, USA. The artist in his series 'Memory of an Unknown City' has portrayed different cities of the world which he had visited with his family.
Noted artist Monirul Islam inaugurated the exhibition at Shilapanagan Gallery as the chief guest on Monday. Lawyer Nahid Mahtab was present at the inauguration programme as the special guest.
'Azmeer was born on the bank of Buriganga and lived on the banks of the Hudson for many years.
He has recreated his memories on his canvasses', said renowned art critic Moinudddin Khaled at the opening ceremony of the show.
The exhibition will remain open for all from 3pm to 8pm till April 30.
