Dr Monjur Showkat
Dr Monjur Showkat, a Clinical Lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine, Imperial College London, was selected as the recipient of a WHO scholarship to study Cardiology in London.
Dr Showkat completed his MBBS from Sir Salimullah Medical College. He trained in cardiology at the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London and its partner hospitals Hammersmith, Royal Brompton, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. He also trained at the Heart Hospital, University College London, and Exeter College, Oxford University. He completed training in Improving the Quality of Health Services at Harvard University in the USA.
Currently, he is a faculty member at Imperial College School of Medicine. He is already a highly accomplished practitioner in his field.
In May 2026, Dr Showkat, received Imperial College London School of Medicine Teaching Excellence Award.
Dr Showkat has received the highest number of Imperial awards since Imperial College was established in 1907.
Dr Showkat previously received the Imperial College London President's Award for Excellence in Education and Teaching (2025).
