Shurer Dhara’s founding anniversary celebration: Album of Shruti Gitobitan inaugurates Prime Minister

To mark the 25th founding anniversary of Shurer Dhara and the celebration of Bengali New Year, Channel i and Shurer Dhara will jointly organise a four day programme. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the celebration on April 11 at Bangabandhu International Convention Centre. She will also launch the album titled Shruti Gitobitan at the event.

 

The programme will continue till April 14. The celebrations will feature solo musical soiree, recitation, welcoming speech, dance, dance drama, seminar, keynote paper presentation, discussion and film screening. The closing day of Bengali Year (Chaitra Sankranti) will be observed on April 13. On April 14 (the first day of Bengali New Year) Shurer Dhara and Channel i will celebrate the Bangla Noboborsha with a choral songs from thousands of students of Shurer Dhara. Poets, writers, journalists, critics, musicians, dramatists and a number of cultural and social activists from the different parts of the country and India will take part in different segments of the celebrations.

 

To announce the details of the celebrations, a press conference was held on the Channel i premises On April 9. Shykh Seraj, News Editor  and also one of the directors of Channel i; Rezwana Chowdhury Bannya, chairman of Shurer Dhara and Professor Shafi Ahmed, Professor of English Department, Jahangirnagar University spoke at the press conference. They talked about the celebrations and its varied aspects. Rezanur Rahman, editor of Ananda Alo and veteran singer Khurshid Alam and others were present at the press conference.
