“Ekjon Kabir Mrittu” is the first film in the country to be financed by the general mass. Nearly four thousand personalities from different walks of life financed the film project. Online portal Bangla Tribune claims to have learned that the shooting of the film has finally been completed. The film has been directed by Abu Sayeed and initiated Crowdfinding Film Initiative. Jayanta Chattyopadhyay and Irine Sultana have acted in the film, which is about pollution free environment. In the film Jayanta acts as a nature loving poet named Abid Hyder, who loves to see a clear star-lit sky. But the pollution-ridden air hampers his view prompting him to take a stand that not even death should impede his strive to clean the environment. He wants to ensure a spirit-lifting view of the starlit-sky as a general right for him and his contemporaries.

To announce the beginning of the project on October 7 in 2015 a press conference was held at the Seminar Hall of Public Library in the presence of filmmakers Syed Salahuddin Zaki, Nasiruddin Yousuff Bachchu, Manjare Hasan Murad and film critic Fahmidul Haque. The director Abu Sayeed has made the film hoping to start a new trend of making films with general people’s sponsorship.
