The Paris based Association for Accountability and Internet Democracy (AAID) recently invited UNB and Dhaka Courier Editor-in-Chief Enayetullah Khan to join its prestigious Board of Members. He joins fellow board members from all over the world, including – among others – French Senator Nathalie Goulet, former German Justice Minister Sabine Leutheusser-Schnarrenberger and Alvaro Gil-Robles, first Commissioner of Human Rights with the European Council. Mr. Dan Shefet is the Founder President of AAID.

AAID has been very active with international institutions like UNESCO, ITU, UN, European Commission, the Mahatma Gandhi Institution for Peace and Education as well as the Council of Europe.

The leitmotif of AAID is to instill a general principle of accountability on the Internet through ensuring mutual respect, tolerance and inclusiveness whilst at the same time protecting free speech and the interactive nature of this new medium.

AAID’s next important event is the conference at the Hague, which will take place at the Peace Palace on the 31st of May 2018, under the theme: “The Internet of Values, Accountability, Global Peace and Justice”.

“We are greatly honored by Enayetullah Khan joining our Board. With his vast knowledge he will be of great value to AAID’s international advocacy against all kinds of abuse of the internet including hate speech, fake news and radicalizing content in order to protect personal integrity as well as our democratic values, peace and stability” said Dan Shefet, President of AAID.
